And our lucky winner is . . . Stephanie!
Edward II was criticized by chroniclers for his enjoyment of rowing, ditch digging, and thatching, but never seems to have taken up an interest in tapestry. (He also enjoyed swimming.) Alianore, an Edward II fangirl like me who often drops by here, has a nice post here on his hobbies, including the abovementioned ones.
And now for today’s quiz.
Any day now, some producer in Hollywood is going to say, “Gosh darn it, that Traitor’s Wife would make a great movie!” When that happy day comes, which actress should play Queen Isabella (who’s a blonde in the novel)?
1. Scarlett Johansson
2. Paris Hilton
3. Reese Witherspoon
4. Cameron Diaz
5. Sarah Michelle Gellar
6. Someone I missed because I don’t see enough movies.
Reese Witherspoon, just because she’s my favorite in that list!
I’m not sure any of them could pull it off, but I can’t think of someone off hand who could
Ick. I don’t really want to pick any of the gals on that list. But on the other hand I can’t come up with a blonde actress with enough gravitas. I guess I don’t go see enough movies either. 🙁
Doesn’t Scarlett Johansson get all the plum royalty roles at the moment? Must be her!
Scarlett, definitely.
I’m thinking Scarlett myself, though I think she just played Anne Boylen.
I’ll have to go with Scarlett, too. I’m not entirely sure she could carry it off, but as she was in The Other Boleyn Girl, maybe…
I’d prefer a British actress, but this early in the morning I can’t think of any! 🙂
Gwyneth Paltrow.
Susan
#6, because I don’t see enough movies :-). I’m not even sure I’d recognise most of the names on your list…. How about Cate Blanchett?
#6 How about an Aussie
Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts or Miranda Otto.
Nicole Kidman: She won the Oscar for her performance as Virginia Wolf in “The Hours” gives two new bravura performances in “Dogville” and “The Human Stain.”
After a breakout performance in “Mulhullond Drive,” Naomi Watts has appeared in numerous acclaimed film and recently received an Oscar nomination for best actress for her performance in “21 Grams”
Australian actress Miranda Otto (really from NZ) has gained international recognition for her performance as Eowyn in the “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy.
I probably do watch a few movies
