One of the more enjoyable things for me about writing historical fiction is doing the research, but it can be a challenge at times. Fortunately, I have help, as you can see by the pictures below.
That’s Michael Hicks’ Warwick the Kingmaker that Stripes and Onslow are working on, and Onslow’s taking a break from reading Arlene Okerlund’s Elizabeth: England’s Slandered Queen.
Unfortunately, a difference seems to be arising between them (as it so often does) as to the mystery of the Princes in the Tower. That may well explain some of the hissing that went on this morning.

Gabriele, I believe there was a Lord Onslow. Think there’s an Onslow Place (or something like that) in London.
Lady D., I’d say Onslow is the harder worker of the two, because whenever I vacate that beautiful pink chair in the evening, he rushes to get it in. I can only assume that’s because he wants to consult my Wars of the Roses books in the adjacent bookshelf.
I love reading historical fiction but don’t know if I would have the stamina to write and research it. And my dogs don’t seem interested in helping me!!

Yeah, I don’t know what I would do without my helpers. Last night, Ginny (cat number three) got into my chair after I vacated it and started reading Richard III: Crown and People! They just can’t get enough of the Wars of the Roses.
I’ve just noticed that Onslow is reading the same book as me!
